Please join us for the 10th Anniversary of the Free Spirit 5K Run and 1 Mile Walk benefiting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The event will take place at Arizona Falls and will feature 5K and 1 mile distances along the canal.
Join friends and family of "Free Spirit" Malachi Patrick Kenney III (MPK III) as we walk and run together to raise money in his memory for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Mal died in August 2014 at the age of 67 after battling two different kinds of Leukemia. He was diagnosed with CLL in July 2011 and eventually Tcell Lymphoma in May 2014, which took his life only 3 short months later. As Mal's Mayo Clinic hematologist said, he was hit by lightning not once, but TWICE.
Mal was the kind of person that made an extraordinary impact on those around him. In his work life, family life, social and spiritual life - he was a phenomenal father, true friend, an amazing teacher and gave himself generously to all who knew him. Mal served as a constant reminder that man does not simply have a soul; rather, man IS a soul, and he has a body. Hence, the Free Spirit Run!
His impact still lives on in so many of us and we are honored to remember his legacy with this annual race and through charitable contributions to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to hopefully make a difference to others who are affected by these diseases.
